i couldn't help it
i was really trying to wait until i could go with sloop, but i couldn't resist a "day-after-thanksgiving, use-our-friend's-omsi-pass" trip to the new science of star wars exhibit at OMSI.yeah, it's a little self-serving with Lucas' no food, thick glass (so you can barely get a good picture), and grocery store plastic flap curtains to keep the air static restrictions, but the exhibit is still pretty rad.
i could give a rip about most of the episode I and II stuff, and it is a little awkward seeing phantom models next to icons like AT-ATs and TIE fighters. that said, to be able to see film-used models and costumes from the movies that made my formative years is pretty amazing.
while i was there i told brian that my 10 or 13-year-old self would have flipped for this exhibit. it was funny to watch little kids walk up and recognize darth vader, and hysterical to see them leave the dark lord and get more excited phantom menace anakin costume.
somehow, i was a little let down overall. probably because the millennium falcon portion requires an additional admission fee, and it was closed by the time i realized it. all in all though it is a must for a star wars fan. there's only a month left to go see it:

Why, you slimy, double-crossing, no-good swindler! There'll be another time. The Princess. You have to take care of her. All right?
But really, I'm just jealous you got to it before I did. Sounds like a sort of ok experience.
I thought you got some super sweet pics, too!
